story work

I work with writers, storytellers, filmmakers and founders to strengthen the voice, structure and psychological depth of their work.

As an editor, creative mentor and collaborator, my focus is:

The integrity of the story
The integrity of the writer

My approach integrates narrative craft and psychological insight. I pay close attention to the wholeness of a story — how character, emergent theme, rhythm and arc interrelate — while tracking the emotional and symbolic patterns shaping the material. I notice where energy peaks and drops, where a truth is being obscured, where the true spine of the work is asking to be strengthened.

Alongside working at the level of crafting, I bring a lot of passionate support for the development of a writing practice that is steady, joyful and sustainable. Writing is relational. We work with questions of identity, visibility and self-trust: how to tolerate being ‘seen’ on the page, how to return to a draft without self-attack, how to build momentum without burning out. The aim is not only to strengthen a project, but to strengthen your sense of yourself as a writer.

You might be working on a screenplay, a book, a long essay, a body of poems, an entrepreneurial or activist project, or the story of your own lived experience. Whether you are at the beginning, mid-process, or deep in revision, you are welcome here.

If you’re hungry for greater coherence, depth and integrity in your work, this collaboration may be a strong fit.

The Writing Self

A focused 1:1 mentorship for writers whose work is entangled with their becoming.
Enthusiastic, rigorous, collaborative and practical.

Together we work on:

• Developing an honest and resonant voice
•Understanding the structural intelligence beneath your work
• Strengthening character and narrative arcs
• Increasing your tolerance for visibility and truth-telling
• Building a sustainable, self-aware writing practice

Writing is not only craft. It is big self-work
Writing is re-writing — and re-writing requires grit!

This container is designed to strengthen your true voice and strengthen your relationship to writing itself.

This mentorship runs over ten weeks, with five 90 minute sessions held fortnightly.

Each session is tailored to your project and stage of development. We may focus on close reading of your work, structural mapping, character and story development, thematic refinement, or unblocking the next stage of momentum.

Between sessions, you’ll receive:

• Written feedback on submitted pages
• Structural notes and developmental questions
• Clear next-step guidance
• Ongoing email support for brief check-ins or clarifications

Investment: $1,250 AUD

I offer a limited number of sliding scale places each term for writers experiencing financial constraint. If the work feels important but the full fee is prohibitive, please reach out.
